The Educational Engineer
Learning science meets computer science
We’ve seen technology transform our work as educators, and it’s not always obvious how to use this to drive better learning. We’ve gone from overhead projectors to e-learning, but the content remained the same. We’ve seen the rise of MOOCs and the promise of personalized learning, but they often fell flat. Now we’re seeing the beginnings of AI that promises to give every learner their own tutor. Let’s talk about doing this right.
I’m Sarah Clark and I’ve been a trainer and engineer my whole career, earning a Masters in Education along the way. My audience has been other engineers and technical sales at Apple, General Magic, HP, Google, multiple startups, etc. This has allowed me to experiment with new approaches such as building simulations and Serious Games, and be an early adopter of xAPI and Machine Learning.
Now it’s time to share what I’ve learned with you.
